From Asheville to Pittsburgh

I was born just outside of Columbus, Ohio but moved to the mountains of Western North Carolina at the age of fourteen where I lived in and around Asheville for the past twenty years. It is a nice city in a beautiful location, but after so long it was time for a change.

I had never been to Pittsburgh despite living just a few hours west of there for so long, but my fiancée grew up in the area and after a few trips up to visit her family and friends I was hooked. It was big, but not too big. Sophisticated, but down-to-earth. And for a city of its size it has a surprising amount of good educational and tech resources. From world-class universities like Carnegie Mellon, to the Carnegie Museums, to local “maker” groups and places like HackPGH and TechShop.

As we continue to get settled I intend to post more here at Coffee With Robots as well as get a few other projects I had set aside back up and going. Asheville is great and will always be a wonderful place to visit, but both of us are looking forward to new opportunities and adventures in the Steel City.
